CFDA PRODUCTIONS- Second Film Making Project
Documentary Film Pitch
What is the story?
We will do a documentary about a socio/cultural issue which is affecting us now days. The issue is the vote in Argentina at the age of sixteen years old.
There was a new law in 2013 which stated that 16 years old teenagers were allowed to vote at the next elections. Not everyone in the country was in favour of this decision, so we want to listen different opinions.
Why we are doing it?
We choose this issue because it concerns us today and because we want to know peoples different opinions. There were too many conflicts in society before approving this law and we want to hear their thoughts.
How we will do it?
We will go out to the streets and ask people of different ages this question, “Are you against or in favour of the vote at 16? Why do you think that this law was approved?” We will film them talking in Spanish and then add subtitles in English so other people can understand it. We will use a Canon T2i Camera with an 18-55 lens and a 55-250 lens.
Our roles are:
Camera Operator: Delfina Carrascal
Director: Mariana Iriso
Editor: Felipe Gorostiaga
Sound Designer : Juan Lopez

Textual Analysis Scream Part II
1) How is the plot or NARRATIVE built up here? (What do we learn about the story of the film, and how?)
The plot of this film is built up in a very simple way. In the opening scene we are already situated in the atmosphere of the movie when Sidney, an american college girl, receives the first phone call while she is in her house. The scene doesnt change much because everything happens inside the same house, but what change is the climax and the filings of want to know what happen next.
2) What do we learn about the characters? HOW do we learn these things about them?
The main information we learn about the Sidney is that she lives alone ,or that she is alone in the house in that scene, and that she has a boyfriend ,Steve, which was going to her house at the moment the stranger calls Sidney. We also get to know that the stranger calling Sidney kidnapped Steve and tied him to a chair outside Sidneys patio. Sidney is a tipical college girl.
3) What conventions of film are used (editing, sound, camera, lighting, colour, etc) that help make this a horror film?
The conventions of film used are all very simple. The editing does not have any special effects and it is continuous editing. The sound of this scene has a very important part helping a horror film. The sound of the telephone ringing for example generates an increasing suspense each time it rings. The voice of the stranger on the phone is also very important because it makes you very nervous when he talks to Sidney and put the impresion of what he want of her. In lighting the ligts are most of them off only one part were with the lights on that is were she cook.
4)What themes of the film are explored here? HOW do, for instance, set and location help set these themes up?
5) What outside factors have influenced this film in the themes and choice of characters? (Think about socio-cultural factors we have discussed in class)
